Fleet baseline
We structure the current fleet profile, including vehicle class, replacement timing, fuel type, utilisation, operating patterns and available asset information.
Methodology
Quartz Shift combines fleet data, operational requirements and whole-of-life cost modelling to identify which vehicles can transition, when they should transition, and what risks need to be managed before investment decisions are made.
Our approach
Fleet electrification is not a model-by-model shopping exercise. A viable transition pathway needs to preserve operational capability, manage capital timing, reduce exposure to fuel volatility and give decision-makers a defensible basis for action.
Quartz Shift's approach is built around the way each vehicle is actually used. We assess operational fit, whole-of-life cost, charging requirements, implementation risk and emissions outcomes across multiple transition scenarios.
We structure the current fleet profile, including vehicle class, replacement timing, fuel type, utilisation, operating patterns and available asset information.
Each vehicle is assessed against practical requirements such as daily distance, payload, towing, seating, vehicle size, power and duty-cycle constraints.
We identify the closest viable electric equivalent for each vehicle based on real-world capability, not brand preference or headline specifications. Where a suitable match is not yet available, the gap is clearly identified.
We compare purchase price, residual value, fuel and electricity, servicing, tyres, insurance, government charges, charging infrastructure and other ownership costs over the assessment horizon.
We model transition pathways such as Business as Usual, Low-risk transition, Planned transition and Fast-track transition, so executives can compare cost, risk, timing and emissions outcomes.
The output is a clear recommended pathway, supported by scenario comparison, capability assessment, financial impact, fuel shock exposure, charging implications, operational risk and emissions reduction.
Quartz Shift gives organisations a clear, evidence-based view of what can transition now, what should wait, and how to manage the pathway with confidence.
